A Respectful & Dignified Farewell for your Best Friend
In simple terms, euthanasia is the humane practice of ending the life of a patient to limit the patient’s suffering. Of course, we all know when it comes to ending the life of our precious pet, there is nothing simple about it. Even if we know they are suffering, coming to terms with making the decision to assist them in their passing can be difficult and the pain unbearable. In the past, the only option to have your pet put to rest was to attend your local vet surgery. Sometimes even if a pet is a frequent visitor of the vet, they may not be comfortable in the surrounds of the surgery. This can be for many reasons, including excessive noise, unfamiliar smells or having to share their space with other animals. If this is the case for your pet, when it comes to their final moments, attending a vet surgery may contribute to the experience being more traumatic for all. Thankfully, several Veterinarians now offer a service where your pet can safely be put to rest in their own home, surrounded by the love of their family and companion pets.
At My Best Friends Farewell, we believe it is important for your pet to be comfortable in their surrounds in those final moments. We believe it is equally important, as a family, you are in a safe space as you say farewell. Our team has developed a working relationship with local in-home euthanasia providers to assist our clients in arranging a personal farewell based on individual requirements, which include your beliefs, cultures, and or, family traditions.
As an alternative to in-home euthanasia, My Best Friends Farewell can also arrange for your pet’s euthanasia at our facility in our purposely designed Room of Rest or at our Garden of Rest located in Deception Bay. We will organise one of our caring Veterinarians to attend at an arranged time and you will have exclusive use of the room or garden to say farewell in a quiet space, knowing that when you leave, your precious pet is already safe in our care.
We understand how confronting it can be to prepare for such a difficult time and we hope to make the experience easier for you by covering your needs with one phone call. If you are faced with the daunting task of organising your pet’s farewell, please contact our team for more information on how we can assist you to create a respectful and dignified farewell for your best friend.
Please note we do not offer an emergency service and in most cases will require at least 48 hours notice to arrange a farewell.
